 2009/10 Serie A season futures are now available at the Pinnacle Sportsbook, with Inter Milan 2.050* favourites, suggesting no change from current hierarchy, with AC Milan (4.00*) and Juventus (4.00*) snapping at their heels, and the league in general decline. Last season for the first time in seven years a Serie A side failed to reach the last eight of the Champions League, reflecting the reality that Italy is no longer the first choice of the world's best players.

Wolfsburg won their first ever Bundesliga title, guided by Felix Magath, breaking records along the way, including becoming the first team to have two strikers score more than twenty goals in a season.
